Description:
The BETA Technology Center is formed by a young multidisciplinary team of 70 researchers, and seeks to incorporate a dynamic person, with leadership capacity and eager to be part of this project. We are looking for a senior researcher expert in Food Loss and Food Waste and with knowledge in sustainability of the agricultural sector.

The candidate will join the "sustainability accounting and optimization" research unit of the BETA Tech. Centre within the framework of the HE FOLOU project - "BRINGING KNOWLEDGE AND CONSENSUS TO PREVENT AND REDUCE FOOD LOSS AT THE PRIMARY PRODUCTION STAGE. UNDERSTANDING, MEASURING, TRAINING AND ADOPTING" as the scientific responsible for the tasks related to the scientific coordination of the FOLOU project and as the scientific responsible for the tasks of the BETA Tech. Centre within the project (e.g., sustainability assessment related to food losses).

Functions and duties:
• Responsible and scientific coordinator of the project. Participation/leadership of consortium meetings, preparation and coordination of deliverables, scientific management of the consortium, etc.
• Scientific responsible for the tasks led by the BETA Tech. Centre within the framework of the FOLOU project.
• Promote new projects and opportunities in the area of food loss and food waste.


Doctorate in the field
Ingeniería química, biotecnología, biología, ciencias ambientales o similares (mínim 5 anys des de la finalització de la tesi)

University degree in the field
Ingeniería química, biotecnología, biología, ciencias ambientales o similares

Certification of Level C1 in Catalan or commitment to obtain it

Accreditation of Level B2 English or commitment to obtain it

5 years of post-doctoral experience in the field of sustainability in the agri-food sector

Knowledge in the field of food loss and food waste

Previous participation in European projects, preferably H2020


Teaching experience at university level

Level B2 or more in languages other than English

Accreditation by an academic Quality Agency

Research experience

Coordination of european projects

Advanced knowledge of life cycle analysis software, especially OpenLCA (also Gabi and/or SimaPro).

Experience in programming

Previous experience in the preparation of proposals for competitive calls

Experience in team lidership
