Description:
The BETA Technology Center is formed by a young multidisciplinary team of 70 researchers, and seeks to incorporate a dynamic person, with leadership capacity and eager to be part of this project. We are looking for a specialist in evaluating the sustainability of products and processes, especially with knowledge in the agricultural sector.
The candidate will join the "sustainability accounting and optimization" research unit of the BETA Tech. Centre within the framework of the HE NOVAFERT project - "NOVEL PROCEDURES AND SUSTAINABLE GUIDELINES TO ENHANCE THE USE OF ALTERNATIVE FERTILISERS" as the main scientific responsible for the tasks related to the evaluation of environmental impacts (e.g., biodiversity, soil carbon sink, toxicity, soil structure and properties, etc.) of the use of alternative fertilizers. The candidate will also collaborate in other projects, both competitive and technology transfer projects with companies and administrations.
Functions and duties:
Specifically, the functions expected of the selected candidate are:
• Scientific responsible for the tasks led by CT BETA within the framework of the NOVAFERT project. Specifically:
- Bibliographic review of the best indicators and methodologies to evaluate the potential effects of alternative fertilizers (e.g., effects on soil biodiversity, soil toxicity, soil properties, soil carbon sink, etc.).
- Development of an evaluation methodology linked to previously selected environmental indicators and its relationship with traditional life cycle analysis impact categories
• Responsible for the scientific management of the project. Specifically participation/leadership of consortium meetings, preparation of deliverables, etc.
