Title: Manager of European competitive projects at the BETA Technology Centre

Description:
The BETA Technology Centre is formed by a young multidisciplinary team of 100 researchers, and is looking for a dynamic person who is willing to be part of this project. We are looking for a European competitive project manager to join the management team of the centre.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the management, control and economic-financial monitoring of European competitive projects in execution until the final justification and economic closure of the project, supporting the researcher to ensure the correct implementation of the projects within the deadlines and formats required by each funding agency.
Among the projects to be managed there will be coordinated projects, where the candidate will act as Financial Manager, acting as liaison between the different members of the consortium and the funding agency in terms of administrative, legal and financial tasks. He/she will also be able to support the researcher and the Business Developer of the centre in the preparation of funding proposals.

Functions and duties:
- Control and monitoring of coordinated competitive projects (mainly H2020 and Horizon Europe Programme). Communication with the funding agency, communication with partners, preparation of Grant Agreement and Consortium Agreement, preparation and payment procedure of partners, management of consortium amendments, etc.
- Planning and monitoring of expenditure execution and change management of competitive projects (management of I+D grant budgets, technical support in project planning, feasibility analysis and redefinition of the budget if necessary, support in the preparation of amendments, adjustments and response to requirements, support in the preparation of financial reports and internal audits).
- Application and follow-up of labour and/or commercial contracts.
- Time control and dedication of the centre's staff (timesheets).
- Scheduling and follow-up of the delivery of scientific-technical and economic justifications, as well as audits.
- Ensuring compliance with institutional policies and funders' regulations and policies.
- Registration and continuous updating of projects in internal and external project management tools.



Vocational training
Higher Level in Environmental Sciences, Chemistry or similar

Certification of Level C1 in Catalan or commitment to obtain it.

Accreditation of Level B2 English or commitment to obtain it.

- Advanced knoweldge of the Office package (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point).

- Knowledge of European and international R&D&I funding programmes, especially knowledge of the H2020 Programme and Horizon Europe.

- Experience at university or research centre level.

- Time management and organisational skills.

- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.



- University degree in environmental sciences, chemistry or similar fields
- PhD degree
- Previous experience in management of competitive research projects.
- Experience in consortium coordination for the development of European projects.
- C1 level of English
- Knowledge of state and Catalan R&D&I funding programmes.
- Complementary training in research management and knowledge transfer.
